Murcia is Sunny
Sun & Beach
The sun is a wonderful fixed value in Murcia, with an enviable microclimate and endless beaches for all tastes. Here the coldest days of winter can be counted on the fingers of one hand. In fact, if we ask a Murcian to define the Region in two words, he will tell us SUN and BEACH.
We can choose between the most natural and wild beaches such as Calblanque or the most touristic and urban areas of Cartagena or Mazarrón. But that is not all…The Region of Murcia is a privileged land whose sunny coast offers the possibility of enjoying the waters of two very different seas: the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea.
Few are the places in the world where one can enjoy watching the sunrise on one sea in the morning, and enjoy the sunset on another. La Manga del Mar Menor is one of them. This coastline that separates the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean has become the symbol of the Costa Calida, due to the quality of its waters and excellent beaches. This paradise still offers places to discover, surprises and isolated places that make us feel adventurous and forget about our routine.
The Mar Menor, a salty lagoon with high levels of salinity and trace elements, is a unique sea in Europe. Part of its coastline is a natural protected area that preserves the local flora and fauna that have a high scientific interest.
This "small" sea is a paradise for sailors and divers in the area. A sea without waves, surrounded by beaches and great appeal to enjoy it throughout the year.
To the south we find the urban beaches of Cartagena, with small hidden coves and impressive cliffs. The Carthaginian coast is quite diverse, as it offers comforts for a quiet sunny day with the family, interesting routes through the lonely coves or stirring natural landscapes.
Next stop: Mazarron! A town with a lot of history and a wide range of sports and leisure activities.
Mazarron offers a different beach concept, linked to water activities such as diving, catamaran trips or fishing. The promenade of Puerto de Mazarron is the heart of the area with its restaurants and beach bars, clubs and concerts. It is a small contemporary city where people from all over Europe come to enjoy their holidays.
Further south, in Águilas, you can breathe the Mediterranean. Its beaches border the Andalusians, but they have nothing to envy.
Here the sands are smooth, the waters are crystal clear and the sun is indulgent. To Aguilas belongs one of the most beautiful virgin beaches in the country: Cabo Cope, an unparalleled paradise with a unique charm. Many of its beaches have obtained the Q seal of tourist quality that brings prestige and reliability.
